Bissouma is on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer from Brighton for a fee of £26 million. Spurs have beaten Arsenal to the race of signing the midfielder who have both the Mali international and Youri Tielemans on their radar.

Bissouma has his medical at Hotspur Way on Thursday where his arrival will hopefully be confirmed. Fabrizio Romano reports that there is an “agreement in place for Yves Bissouma joining from Brighton, as first reported by @garyjacob. Final details on the add-ons”. This signing could add further depth to the midfield which is desired by Antonio Conte and with the addition of Champions League football next season, rotation could be key for Tottenham.

Last season Bissouma played 26 Premier League games, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists from centre-midfield. He has proved that he can perform well in defence and create chances on the opposite side of the pitch as he can drive the ball up the field.

The signing of Bissouma could however push the likes of Harry Winks out of the club. He has been at Spurs since his time in the U-18 squad in 2014, then progressing under the Spurs academy, eventually being promoted to the first team in 2016 with his debut against Liverpool resulting in a 1-1 draw. Premier League clubs such as Everton are reportedly interested in the British midfielder and could be used in a swap deal if Tottenham go for Richarlison.
